As a member you help shape what we do and offer – and you support the work we do for all students at Lnu. You get the student pubs, the member events and the course literature scholarship on top. You join in your phone, in about three minutes.

    As a member you get a discount on VUGI's annual membership – the association that runs the Olympen gym on campus in Växjö.

    You can vote at the members' meeting and run for the union board – and every member gives the union more weight towards the university.

What we work on

Where does the money go?

  • Student representation – we appoint student representatives to boards and committees at Lnu.
  • The students' voice towards the university, the municipalities and society.
  • Support and advice during your studies.
  • A better social study environment – support for the student associations and work on safety.
  • The course literature scholarship, awarded every month.
  • Events such as welcome fairs, member fika, CSN breakfasts and Valborg celebrations.

Good to know

Do I have to be a member to study at Linnaeus University?

No, membership is entirely voluntary, and the union represents all students regardless of membership. But the more of us there are, the stronger the students' voice – and you get the pubs and events on top.

I'm an international student – can I join?

Absolutely! Hitract is available in English and the membership works the same way. Switch language at the top right to see the whole site in English.

What does it cost and how long is it valid?

200 SEK for one semester or 300 SEK for two. Membership is per semester – exactly what is included and how it renews is set out in the general membership terms.

I study remotely. Is this for me?

Yes. Education monitoring applies to all students, the course literature scholarship is drawn among all members, and you can get involved online – for example as a student representative.

Where does the money go?

Membership fees fund education monitoring, student support and student life. The union is run by students, not for profit.
