Together with Växjö and Kalmar municipalities, Linnaeus Union gives you a welcome package when you register your address in your new study city. A taste of what the city has to offer – and all you have to do is actually move.
Why you should register your address
Under the Swedish Population Registration Act (1991:481) you must be registered where you spend your nights – that is, where you live and study. Notifying the Swedish Tax Agency of your move is free. If you have family (spouse/partner/children living at home) who stay in another place you don't always have to change your registration, but you should not be registered with your parents once you have moved.
Växjö

Kalmar
Welcome package in Kalmar
Gift card worth 1,000 SEK
In cooperation with Kalmar municipality – a gift card for Handelsstaden Kalmar. We also donate 100 SEK to a student association of your choice that brightens your time at Linnaeus University.

How to do it
- Register your address in the municipality with a free change-of-address notification to the Tax Agency.
- At the same time, sign up for New in Växjö or New in Kalmar via the online form for your city.
- You choose, we donate
As a thank you for registering your address in your study city, Linnekåren donates 100 SEK to a student association of your choice. Just pick the association in the form when you sign up, and we’ll take care of the rest. - Once your application has been checked and approved we contact you – then you collect the package at the office.
It can take several weeks before you get a reply, and the email may end up in your spam folder. If you haven't heard anything within two months – get in touch with us.
The project runs per calendar year and nothing is approved retroactively. Sign up at the same time as you register your address.
Conditions
- You register your address in Växjö or Kalmar municipality.
- You are a student at Linnaeus University.
- You apply in the same year as you register your address in the municipality.
- You do not have a protected identity.
- You have not previously been registered in the municipality.
