About Linnaeus UnionThe students' voice in Växjö and Kalmar.

Linnaeus Union is the student union at Linnaeus University – a non-profit organisation run by students, for students. Our mission: to make sure the education is up to standard, that your student years are worth remembering – and that no student stands alone.

How the union is run

Power flows from the bottom up – and starts with you. Every member can vote at the members' meeting.

  • The members

All members own the union. You can vote at the members' meeting and run for the union board yourself.

  • The members' meeting

The union's highest decision-making body. Held several times per academic year; it elects the union board and decides on the budget, operational plan and opinion document. The papers are published under Documents.

    To the documents

  • The union board

Leads the union between members' meetings: the president, education officers and student welfare officers for Växjö and Kalmar, plus part-time board members in both cities. The board also appoints the student representatives.

    Who is on the board?

  • The office

Employed staff who run the day-to-day work: operations manager, student and PhD ombudspersons, international student coordinator, finance officer, communications officer and organisation administrators.
