You grow
Lead a project, manage a budget, speak in front of a hundred people. Things you don't learn in a lecture hall.
Get involvedMost fun on campus. Smartest on your CV.
Want to get more out of your student years? Become a student representative and influence your education, become a buddy and welcome international students, or get involved in the EUniWell committee and the associations. You decide how much time you put in.
Why?
What do I get out of it?
You build a network
Students from other programmes and other countries, the university's leadership in the boards, the companies at the welcome fair. Contacts that last well beyond graduation.
It shows on your CV
Employers ask about involvement. Student representative is a paid position, and as a buddy you earn merit points from Lnu.
Ways to get involved
Pick what suits you
Student representative
Represent your fellow students in the university's boards and councils. You apply, the union board appoints – and the position is paid.
Student safety representative
A special kind of student representative who represents students in work environment matters. The union trains you.
Buddy
Welcome a new international student to Växjö or Kalmar. Merit points from Lnu and friends from all over the world.
The EUniWell committee
Yoga, cooking, speed-friending and exchanges in Europe – the committee works for student well-being on both campuses.
The union board
The president, education officers, student welfare officers and part-time members lead the union between members' meetings. Any member can run.
Association board
Some fifty associations need boards, treasurers and event managers. The union supports with handbooks, chair forums and grants.
The associations
Find your association
Some fifty associations are linked to the union – student pubs, programme associations, nations and interest associations in both Växjö and Kalmar.
The welcome fair – every semester in Växjö and in the autumn in Kalmar – is a golden opportunity to meet the associations all at once.
Teacher of the Year
Know a teacher who makes a difference?
Every year the union presents the Teacher of the Year award to teachers who go beyond what is expected. Read about the award and this year's winners.
