About the scholarship

SWEA Holland is now opening the application period for the 2027 Cultural Scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to support SWEA’s mission: "to support, preserve, promote, and develop knowledge of Swedish history, the Swedish language, Swedish culture, and tradition." You can apply for the scholarship if you meet the following requirements: • You are at least 18 years old. • You are active in or studying a field aligned with SWEA’s mission in a broad sense, such as literature, visual arts, music, theater or dance. • You are residing in, studying in, or have a connection to the Netherlands. • Applicants must also have a relevant connection to Sweden and speak Swedish. • Members of SWEA Holland and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply. Application process: Apply by filling out the application form on the next page. The application period is 15 September – 1 December 2026. SWEA Holland’s scholarship committee will review the applications and propose candidates to the board, which will make the final decision. The decision cannot be appealed. The scholarship will be awarded during a SWEA Holland event in 2027. Expectations for Scholarship Recipients: • The recipient is expected to orally present how the scholarship will be or has been used during the award ceremony. • The recipient is also expected to promote the scholarship and SWEA through their own and relevant social media channels. Scholarship details • The maximum scholarship amount is € 4.000, intended as compensation for expenses. • The scholarship committee reserves the right to request references from applicants.
